Simply the Best

M/V Mistral – 15 November 2018

Mistral sailed out from Port Ghaleb on a Simply the Best routing – covering Brothers Daedalus and Elphinstone.

After the check dive at Ras Tromby Mistral heading directly to the Brothers.  Mooring at Little Brother for the afternoon dive along the wall divers were greated to the remote islands by a Oceanic White Tip Shark on the safety stop.  What  a great start to the week.

Day 2 Mistral stayed at Little Brother for a day of relaxed but exhilerating diving.  3 dives during the day brought even more shark sightings – both Oceanic and Thresher.

Day 3 was spent at Big Brother taking in the stunning wrecks of Aida and Numidia with yet more Sharks!

Mistral sailed across to Daedalus for day 4.  The first dive was strong currents but later in the afternoon these died down and the remaining dives were gentle and beautiful.  Divers enjoyed the beautiful overhangs covered with Anemones and Clams.  A huge Napolean Wrasse was so inquisitive it appeared to be following the divers.

Arriving at Elphinstone for day 5 the currents were strong making for some great drift diving.  Another oceanic and large shoal of fusilliers, tunas and much more!

The final day a nice shallow dive at Abu Dabab – an interesting little wreck in the middle of the site with caves at the end.  An eagle ray glided slowly by the divers who luckily managed to catch her on camera!

The trip ended with Marsa Shouna and divers were bid a fond farewell by a very large turtle and it’s ramora friends.

A big thanks to the divers on board for making this such a fun trip and we hope to see you all soon.
