Shark Quest – New for 2018

M/V Mistral – 25 January 2018

Eleven divers jumped onboard M/V Mistral for our very first ever week of  this new itinerary!

This new itinerary is totally flexible within the area between Brother Islands, Daedalus and Elphinstone.

Our experienced guides use their local knowledge to get you to the best places to see sharks, rays and enjoy pelagic action – meaning you get to spend as much time possible diving at the hottest sites without being tied to fixed schedules and timings.

We were all really excited and couldn’t wait to hear how the trip went and to get feedback from the divers on board as well as our guides.

The Week

Our first week of this itinerary really lived up to it’s name!

M/V Mistral left Port Galeb and headed straight to the remote Brother Islands.  The Brothers are well known for their shark action.  Recently the Brother Islands have been a hot area for oceanics.  On the first day at Little Brother divers found two very curious Oceanics – this was a good start of a very successful trip.

On day two at Big Brother the diving was simply beyond amazing. Four Oceanic White Tips followed by Thresher Shark on the plateau!

Mistral left the Brother Islands and arrived at Daedalus on day three.  Divers certainly were not disappointed that they had moved on with a whopping four oceanics put in an appearance over the two days.

The last dives of the trip were at Elphinstone – which always provides some great diving but sadly this time around no Sharks.

There were lots of smiling faces on board at the end of this successful week!

We are looking forward to many more pelagic packed weeks ahead in 2018.
